Job description

Job Title: Controller

Location: Toronto - downtown hybrid

Industry: Technology

Salary: $125,000 -$140,000

Our client is a rapidly growing, founder-led business entering a new stage of expansion. They are looking for a hands-on Controller to build their financial foundation and lead accounting, financial operations, and reporting alongside the leadership team.

Responsibilities included but limited to include:

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including AR, collections, payroll (small), billing, invoicing, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.

  • Manage cash flow, budgeting, and financial modeling to support new pricing strategies and growth plans.

  • Prepare financial statements and KPIs for leadership, partnering across teams to optimize processes.

  • Ensure compliance, coordinate audits, and maintain strong internal controls and risk management.

Qualifications

  • CPA is required
  • 8+ years of related Industry experience and a passion for Technology, AI or Cyber Security.
  • Experience working within a small team and collaborating with other Business Unit leaders.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Tech and System savvy with strong Excel skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
