As our organization continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent to support our expanding portfolio of heavy civil construction projects.

About the Role

The Civil Construction Superintendent is responsible for leading and overseeing day-to-day field operations across civil construction projects. This role works closely with Project Managers and field teams to execute project plans, coordinate site activities, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company and client expectations.

This position plays a key leadership role in driving field execution, managing crews, equipment, and subcontractors, and maintaining productivity, quality, and schedule performance across projects.

Project demands may shift based on operational needs, timelines, and site conditions. The successful candidate must be adaptable, proactive, and confident in making sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

You are a hands-on construction leader with strong experience in light and heavy civil, municipal infrastructure, mining, and industrial services environments. You are confident managing field operations, coordinating teams, and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

You lead by example and foster a strong safety culture on-site. You are organized, decisive, and solutions-driven, with the ability to anticipate challenges and keep projects moving forward.

You thrive in the field, enjoy mentoring crews, and take pride in delivering high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day field operations on civil construction projects
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to develop work plans, methodologies, and execution strategies
  • Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to meet project requirements
  • Direct, coach, and support field teams to ensure safe work practices, productivity, and quality workmanship
  • Ensure projects are constructed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and environmental requirements
  • Monitor and maintain construction schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved
  • Prepare and maintain daily site reports, including progress updates and site conditions
  • Coordinate site logistics and resource planning with project leadership
  • Enforce and uphold all health, safety, and environmental standards on-site
  • Ensure compliance with Infracon HSE Program and all regulatory requirements
  • Oversee care, maintenance, and proper use of company equipment, vehicles, and tools
  • Identify and resolve field issues, constructability challenges, and operational constraints
  • Maintain strong communication with project teams, leadership, and stakeholders
  • Support continuous improvement in field operations, safety practices, and project execution
  • Perform additional duties as required to support project and operational success

Experience Required

  • Minimum 10+ years of civil construction experience
  • Minimum 5+ years in a supervisory or superintendent role
  • Experience in heavy civil earthworks and underground construction
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and field execution
  • Experience with project scheduling, planning, and cost awareness
  • Experience operating heavy equipment is considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software
  • Ability to manage crews and multiple site priorities effectively
  • Willingness to travel and work on project sites across Western Canada

Safety Requirements

  • Promote and uphold Infracon's Health, Safety, and Environment culture
  • Ensure all site activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in and lead safety meetings, hazard assessments, and site inspections
  • Valid driver's licence with clean abstract
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing
  • Required certifications may include:
    • First Aid
    • CSTS
    • H2S Alive
    • Leadership for Safety Excellence
  • Completion of corporate and site-specific orientations
  • Use of required PPE at all times on-site

Work Environment & Compensation

This position is primarily field-based and requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain. The role involves physical activity including standing, walking, bending, and working on active construction sites.
