Job Summary – Remarketing Administrator

The Inventory Product Data Administrator is responsible for the creation, accuracy, and lifecycle management of asset models within Quantum's operating systems. This role vets and creates new model requests, maintains and updates existing models (descriptions, categories, asset disposition, and audit comments), and drives consistency, accuracy, and speed in how models are built and maintained. The Administrator develops training programs and reference materials so operations teams can create and update models correctly, leads the cleanup and archiving of legacy model data, and reviews aged inventory to support timely resale. The role also acts as a key point of contact between operations and remarketing regarding asset disposition (sell vs. scrap) decisions, proactively catching cases where sellable assets are at risk of being incorrectly scrapped. This position requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage a high volume of requests in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the accuracy, efficiency, and profitability of Quantum's remarketing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the creation, review, and maintenance of asset models, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and proper categorization.
  • Review and approve model creation requests, update existing models, and identify opportunities to consolidate, archive, or improve legacy data.
  • Develop procedures, training materials, and best practices to support consistent model creation and maintenance across operations teams.
  • Provide guidance on asset disposition decisions, review assets flagged for scrap, and work with operations teams to ensure accurate classification and maximum recovery value.
  • Monitor aged inventory and recommend actions to improve resale opportunities, including identifying products for bid lists or alternative disposition.
  • Communicate model updates and process changes to stakeholders, provide support for model-related issues, and drive continuous system and process improvements.
  • Maximize asset recovery value by ensuring model data, categorization, and disposition decisions accurately reflect each asset's resale potential and by identifying opportunities to prevent undervaluation or unnecessary scrapping.

Qualifications

Education and Expierence:

  • Business Administration (degree, diploma, certificate) and/or relevant experience in a related field such as data/inventory administration, IT asset management, or operations.
  • Computer hardware and IT/electronic equipment experience, including familiarity with device makes, models, and specifications.
  • Experience working with ERP, inventory, or asset management systems is an asset.

Job-Specific Knowledge and Skills

  • Attention to Detail & Data Accuracy: Strong ability to review, vet, and maintain model data (descriptions, categories, disposition, audit comments) with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
  • Computer Hardware Knowledge: Working knowledge of IT/electronic equipment, components, and specifications to accurately create and validate asset models.
