The Legal Affairs sector, specializing in commercial law at Agropur Cooperative, acts as a trusted partner to the organization’s various business units. It serves numerous decision-makers across all areas of the company. Its team members are rigorous, efficient, and possess a strong understanding of the cooperative’s business dynamics.
What this role entails
As part of their responsibilities, the Legal Counsel will notably :
- Participate in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various types of commercial contracts, including distribution, manufacturing, supply, service, purchase or sale, licensing agreements, real estate leases, confidentiality agreements, etc.;
- Provide legal advice and opinions on various matters related to the cooperative’s activities, including applicable legislation and regulations;
- Handle and follow up on various litigation files, either internally or in collaboration with external counsel;
- Participate in identifying risks and developing legal solutions for special projects;
- Collaborate with other members of the Legal Affairs team to organize support for internal business units and improve processes (including precedent management and automation); and
- Perform any other related legal tasks connected to the cooperative’s activities.
