Lab Assistant (Shipping and Receiving and QA)

Business Unit - Frontage Vancouver, Canada (formerly BRI)

Job Title: Lab Assistant (Shipping and Receiving and QA)

Job Location: Vancouver, BC

Salary: $45,000 to $47,000.00

Frontage is a global Contract Research Company (CRO) with the head office located in Exton, Pennsylvania, USA. Frontage has 25 sites across USA, Canada, China and Italy. The Canadian operations include two sites – one located in Vancouver and the other based in Toronto. Frontage Vancouver (formerly BRI) has been in operation for more than 25 years with service offerings in regulated and non-regulated bioanalytical (various platforms including LC/MS/MS and MSD for small and large molecules analyses), In-vitro / In-vivo Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics and pharmacology. The Frontage Vancouver operation is projected to grow significantly in the next few years, especially to meet the demands of biotech and pharmaceutical companies in the Pacific Northwest region. Our facility is accredited by AAALAC and conforms to GLP standards.

Currently, we are seeking highly motivated team players to join Frontage organization in various roles.

This position requires teamwork and excellent oral, written communication, and strong leadership skills.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Requires post-secondary diploma preferably with a science background, and/or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Experience in pharmaceutical contract research and GLP compliance knowledge is an asset
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning, organization and leadership abilities.
  • Competent and self-motivated individual able to work independently
  • Good logical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts and/or extra shifts, sometimes on short notice
  • Ability to work under specific time constraints

Job Responsibilities:

  • Archiving study and non-study related data in electronic and printed form
  • Retrieval of archived material
  • Maintain BRI’s vendor/supplier qualification program
  • Maintain all documentation to ensure the GLP requirements are met
  • Ensure all supplies are ordered in a timely manner
  • Restock supplies in the laboratory as needed
  • Maintain chemical, materials, consumables and supplies inventory
  • Receive ordered materials and other shipments
  • Receive and log in all sample submissions
  • Release/ship material to appropriate clients or suppliers
  • Maintain storage area in a clean and organized manner
  • Help with general facility maintenance as needed
  • Other tasks as required
