About the Role

Terus Construction, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc., is seeking a Junior Quality Control Technician to join our team in Revelstoke, Cranbrook, or Crescent Valley, BC.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform quality control testing during aggregate production.
• Assist in the application of quality control program and procedure.
• Ensure product compliance with applicable specifications and reporting requirements.
• Display good communication with supervisor, crushing sub-contractors and plant personnel.
• Ensure maintenance and calibrations of all lab equipment is current and within acceptable specifications.
• Promote accuracy and confidence in testing with the highest ethical standards.
• At all times, conduct business under his/her responsibility with professionalism and respect.
• Understands project specifications and requirements. Will report promptly substandard results so corrective actions are applied in the best of times as required.
• Understand and abide by all OH&S Regulations, Safety Policy, other internal policies and safety directives that may be implemented on specific sites from those that the Company is contracted with to perform the work (i.e.. owners, general contractors).

Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in QA/QC the construction industry preferred.
• Willing to train the right individual who has less experience.
• Good communication skills (oral & written) and team player.
• Class 5 Driver’s License
• Ability to work in both the outdoors and a laboratory setting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as required.

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $25-27 CAD an hour. The final compensation package will be determined based on factors including the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
