ProTrans BC Operations Ltd., a subsidiary of AtkinsRéalis, is the private operator of the Canada Line, a 19-km automated rail-based rapid transit system connecting Downtown Vancouver with central Richmond and the Vancouver International Airport. Our fleet of trains provide a 26-minute terminus-to-terminus service to an average weekday ridership of more than 120,000 passengers across 16 stations. Our operations office is in Richmond, British Columbia.

Reporting to Manager Procurement and Business Systems, the Business Systems Analyst will analyze business systems and procedures, and provide technical solutions to improve business efficiency and productivity. Ensures implementation and maximum access to technology services and resources in an efficient and effective manner.

Location – Richmond, BC (Onsite Work)

Your role within the team:

  • Gathers complex business requirements from stakeholders to gain insightful understanding of business processes and their value to the organization.
  • Formally presents recommendations and solution ideas to stakeholders and internal customers.
  • Solicits cooperation and gathers resources from a variety of work groups to effectively deliver integrated solutions to the business.
  • Develops and implements effective solutions to business process problems utilizing Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint and other available technological platforms.
  • Creates and maintains programmatic and technical documentation to ensure efficient reference, planning, and execution.
  • Analyze, investigate, and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Perform integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of user training programs.
  • Identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability.
  • Creates and manages interactive and insightful Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Liaisons with corporate IT on issues and assists with upgrades.
  • Updates and maintains a list of equipment and devices.
  • Provides relief support to Senior Business Systems Analyst and Manager Procurement and Business Systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $68,960 - $94,820 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.

The ideal candidate:

  • BSc. of Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • Minimum 3+ years experience in an Analyst role in a client-interfacing technological Business Systems environment.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft’s SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON and other relevant coding languages.
  • Experience with common data service, data connectors, and APIs.
  • Broad knowledge of hardware, networking, software and programming.
  • Requires strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft O365 products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Visio).
  • Knowledge and application of database monitoring, alerting and troubleshooting.
  • Effective verbal presentation and listening communications skills. Must be able to demonstrate an ability to persuade stakeholders with rationale and judgement.
  • Time management and good decision making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, troubleshooting and planning skills. Microsoft Certification (MCSD or MSCE) are considered an asset.
  • In depth knowledge of cloud computing platforms and services.
  • Technology business system experience is required.
  • A combination of education and experience may also be considered.
