Job description
Project Manager

Our client is searching for a hands-on Project Manager to join their successful team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage the overall project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The Project Manager will be responsible for covering a broad spectrum covering all areas of project management such as project planning, cost management, time management, quality management, and safety management.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Full cycle project management of commercial construction and TI projects
  • Project plan, budget, and identify resources as needed
  • Create teams, develop objectives and goals of each, and assign responsibilities
  • Minimize exposure and risk
  • Ensure construction activities move according to predetermined schedule
  • Devise project work plans and make revisions when the need arises
  • Communicate effectively with contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project
  • Coordinate efforts of all parties involved in the project
  • Monitor the progress of construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular meetings with all parties
  • Maintain strict adherence to budgetary guidelines, quality and safety standards
  • Periodic inspection of construction sites
  • Ensure all project documentation is complete
  • Identify elements of project design and scope likely to give rise to disputes and claims
  • Serve as key link with clients and review deliverables prepared by the team before passing onto the client
Your strengths include:
  • Minimum 5 years of Project Management
  • PMI Certifications (PMP) or post-secondary project management training would also be considered an asset
  • Ability to plan and organize a team effort
  • Good client management and goodwill building ability
  • Capacity to motivate, lead and boost morale of workers
  • Effective time management and logical decision-making ability
  • Capacity to handle pressure
  • Willingness to travel extensively across possible multiple sites
  • Strong physical and mental fitness
  • Strong focus on quality and safety
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
