The Clinical Operations Informatics Office (COIO) Operational Informatics team provides coordinated, consistent, and sustainable informatics support across Urban and Rural Acute Care, Continuing Care, Primary Care, Ambulatory Care, Allied Health, Specialty Areas, and Corrections. With a strong focus on collaboration, team connection, and operational support, the team ensures that clinical areas receive the informatics expertise needed to optimize the Clinical Information System (CIS).Reporting to the Program Lead, the Operational Clinical Informatics Lead (OCIL) serves as a key resource for designated operational areas, supporting clinical informatics needs and related business processes. The OCIL applies advanced clinical and informatics expertise to guide CIS development, deployment, adoption, sustainability, and optimization. Working closely with clinical leadership and frontline staff, the OCIL supports end‑user adoption and promotes excellence in clinical practice and patient outcomes.
Description:
The OCIL provides hands‑on clinical informatics leadership and operational support for Digital Health, including Connect Care adoption, implementation, and optimization. This role requires advanced clinical experience, deep EMR knowledge, and exceptional communication skills to effectively engage diverse stakeholders and promote safe, consistent, and sustainable use of Digital Health tools across clinical environments. Key responsibilities include: Supporting operations in managing complex CIS issues through troubleshooting, advanced analysis, ticketing and escalation processes, and collaboration with operational leaders. Ensuring compliance with Digital Health governance, standards, and processes. Leading and supporting clinical workflow optimization, business process transformation, benefits realization, and risk mitigation activities. Acting as a liaison between Operations and Digital Health teams, helping operational leaders understand their informatics accountabilities. Applying structured change management methodologies to support stakeholder engagement, manage expectations, and promote consistent adoption of Connect Care. Maintaining active communication with leadership to understand operational contexts and communicate system changes effectively. This role requires expert clinical informatics knowledge, strong leadership and influencing skills, and the ability to navigate politically sensitive issues with significant organizational impact. The OCIL works across provincial and zone communities of practice and collaborates with external partners including academic institutions, clinician groups, and professional associations.
Required Qualifications: Additional Required Qualifications: Proven project management skills, including leading meetings, prioritizing work, resolving conflicts, maintaining issue lists, and managing project plans. Strong communication, follow‑up, and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to negotiate solutions and resolve conflicts during implementation. Ability to lead IT and clinical operations staff through complex discussions and decision‑making. Detail‑oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to uncover underlying needs that inform system design. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, building positive relationships with vendor staff and external consultants. Strong time‑management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Working knowledge of basic systems principles, healthcare operations, and clinical workflows. Experience mentoring and supporting junior staff. Demonstrated commitment to professional and personal development. Self‑motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to manage the psychological and physical demands associated with Connect Care work, including travel and meetings outside regular hours.
Preferred Qualifications: Certifications in management, leadership, or change management (, PROSCI). Strong working knowledge of clinical services, information technology, and organizational systems. Connect Care experience preferred.
