Job description

Role: Data Engineer Location: Fully Remote (Canada, EST time zone) Compensation: Salary + Bonus + Health Benefits About Veem Veem is transforming global money movement.

Traditional cross-border payments are slow, expensive, and opaque—we’ve built a platform that makes them seamless, transparent, and scalable.

Our solution combines global payments, FX optimization, and embedded financial tools to help businesses—from SMBs to large platforms—operate and grow internationally with confidence.

We take a partner-first approach, working closely with customers to unlock revenue opportunities and drive real business impact.

Why Join Veem Impact: Help businesses move billions globally, more efficiently Growth: Be part of a fast-scaling fintech and embedded finance space Ownership: Contribute meaningfully and see results quickly Collaboration: Work cross-functionally across Product, Sales, and Ops Innovation: Shape the future of B2B payments Role Overview We’re hiring a Data Engineer to support a high-impact, lean data team by addressing a current capacity bottleneck.

This is a maintenance and optimization-focused role .

The core infrastructure is already built—you’ll focus on improving performance, reliability, and ongoing data operations rather than building from scratch.

Ideal for someone who enjoys backend data work, is detail-oriented, and can quickly take ownership with minimal guidance.

What Makes This Role Stand Out Work closely with an experienced Data Engineer Own systems that directly impact business operations Remote-friendly within a tight-knit team Key Responsibilities Maintain and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure (Snowflake) Troubleshoot pipeline and reporting issues Build and update reports (e.g., compliance, partner billing) in Looker Write and optimize SQL queries and Python scripts Create and maintain data views based on internal needs Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and performance Partner closely with the existing Data Engineer Tech Stack Data Warehouse: Snowflake BI/Reporting: Looker Languages: SQL, Python Team Structure Small, collaborative data team (~4 people) Individual contributor role reporting within the data function Ideal Candidate 1–4 years of experience in data engineering or similar role Strong SQL and Python skills Hands-on experience with Snowflake and Looker Comfortable in a maintenance-focused environment Able to ramp quickly and work independently Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills Context Existing system is stable and in production Primary need is backlog support (e.g., partner billing delays) Opportunity to grow into greater ownership over time Powered by JazzHR
