Job description

Description:

The District of Saanich's Parks, Recreation and Community Services department is seeking a team player to help drive our mission of Healthy Nature, Healthy People, and Healthy Community while supporting our vision: a Saanich where everyone belongs. You’ll work within a team where service excellence, learning and knowledge sharing, and feedback and accountability are highly valued, and where communication, trust, respect, and positivity form the foundation for everything we do.

Reporting to a Programmer II or III, the Programmer I is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating recreation programs, services and special events within the Older Adult Services area. The Programmer I also develops community partnerships, supports marketing and promotional activities, prepares program materials, contributes to budget planning, and ensures programs operate effectively within established resources.

Requirements include completion of a two-year post-secondary diploma in recreation, leisure studies or a related field, along with a minimum of two years of experience in program planning and staff supervision.
