Job description

The Opportunity

Build your own business, where your success is driven by the relationships you build, the people you support, and the impact you make in your community.

Co-operators is expanding its financial services presence across Canada, and we are looking for driven, relationship-centric professionals who are eager to build an independent business and have meaningful impact. Whether you have years of experience in financial services or you're just getting started, this opportunity offers the autonomy to build and grow your independent business, with the support of a trusted national brand.

As a Financial Services Independent Advisor, you'll build long-term relationships with members of your community, helping them and their families achieve financial security at every stage of life. You'll leverage your network, entrepreneurial drive, and consultative approach to grow a client portfolio, providing tailored insurance and wealth solutions aligned to each client's goals. Through consistent engagement and trusted advice, you'll establish yourself as a respected financial services professional in your community.

This is an independent, business-building opportunity. You will run your own advisory practice as an independent contractor, distributing Co-operators products under the Co-operators brand.

How You Will Create Impact

  • Establish yourself as a trusted financial advisor in your community by building strong relationships with clients, understanding their goals, and delivering tailored solutions that meet their unique needs
  • Build and grow a profitable, sustainable client portfolio through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, and community engagement
  • Deliver personalized, advice-based insurance and wealth solutions that drive client confidence, loyalty, and long-term financial security
  • Act as a visible and professional independent representative of Co-operators, strengthening our reputation and presence in the communities we serve

How You Will Succeed

  • You take full ownership of building a profitable, sustainable financial services portfolio
  • You earn client trust through consistent, advice-based relationships focused on long-term financial outcomes
  • You grow a book of business through disciplined prospecting, networking, and active community engagement
  • You continuously develop your expertise in insurance, wealth solutions, and market trends to remain competitive and credible
  • You stay focused and resilient in the pursuit of your goals, overcoming barriers while effectively managing your time, priorities, and sales pipeline
  • You operate independently while upholding Co-operators' values, brand standards, and client-first approach

This Opportunity May Be Right for You If

We're looking for motivated, relationship-driven individuals who are excited to provide financial security for Canadians and our communities.

You may be a strong fit if you:

  • Hold a valid Life Insurance License (LLQP or equivalent) and/or Mutual Funds License (, IFC, CIFC), or are willing to obtain them, and meet ongoing licensing and continuing education requirements
  • Have experience in financial services, insurance, banking, or other advice-based sales environments
  • Have experience running your own business
  • Have a background in wealth management, B2B sales, account management, or business development
  • Have worked in client-facing advisory or relationship-management roles where trust and credibility matter
  • Are a business owner, entrepreneur, or community-based sales professional who thrives on autonomy and long-term growth

What you bring:

  • A demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and convert them into sustainable business growth
  • A strong sales and business-development mindset, with comfort prospecting, networking, and creating opportunity
  • Clear, confident communication, strong organization, and disciplined follow-through
  • A client-first, advice-based approach grounded in helping clients and families build financial security and achieve their goals
  • Resilience, accountability, and self-motivation, with the drive to take ownership of your results

What You Need to Know

  • This is a client-facing, business development-focused, independent advisory opportunity
  • You will operate your own business as an independent contractor under the Co-operators brand
  • Success is built over time through relationship building, portfolio development, and consistent business activity
  • You will distribute Co-operators products exclusively, in accordance with the terms of your independent contractor agreement
  • You will be required to complete a comprehensive background check

What's In It for You?

  • The opportunity to build and grow your own financial services portfolio with ownership over your results
  • Opportunities to grow your compensation through business development, client retention, and new business success
  • A flexible, remote-friendly work model with autonomy over your schedule
  • Comprehensive onboarding, training, mentorship, and ongoing development to support your long-term success
  • Access to enterprise-level tools, marketing resources, product specialists, and dedicated support teams to help you grow and scale your business
  • The backing of a trusted Canadian brand with a strong community presence and a values-driven, client-first culture

Apply

As part of the recruitment process, you will need to complete background, credit, and eligibility checks to Co-operators’ satisfaction.

If you are a driven, relationship-focused professional ready to build a meaningful independent financial services business—whether you bring established experience or are ready to grow into the opportunity—we welcome the opportunity to connect.

Bring your ambition, your curiosity, and your commitment to your community, and build your independent financial services business with Co-operators.

Our Commitment to Inclusion

Co-operators is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and accessible environment. We encourage individuals of all backgrounds and experiences to explore this opportunity. Accommodations are available throughout the recruitment process upon request.
