Position Summary We are looking for an experienced Welding Supervisor to lead our welding team during the afternoon shift (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM) .
This role is responsible for coordinating daily welding operations, supporting production targets, maintaining quality and safety standards, and providing hands-on technical guidance to the team.
The ideal candidate brings extensive welding experience, strong knowledge of MIG and TIG processes, and proven experience supervising welding crews in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities Plan and coordinate welding activities to meet production schedules and deadlines.
Supervise, support, and provide technical guidance to welding staff.
Monitor welding processes for productivity, quality, and compliance with established procedures.
Ensure welded components meet drawings, specifications, quality standards, and applicable welding requirements.
Enforce safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
Coordinate welding equipment, materials, and staffing to support efficient production.
Troubleshoot welding defects, equipment issues, and production challenges and implement corrective actions.
Maintain required welding, inspection, quality, and production documentation.
Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to resolve technical and operational issues.
Train and mentor welders and support ongoing process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills 10+ years of welding experience , including significant experience as a senior or highly skilled welder.
Minimum 2 years of experience supervising or leading welding crews .
Extensive hands-on experience with welding processes, particularly MIG and TIG welding .
Strong understanding of welding procedures, codes, standards, and quality requirements.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to welding quality, materials, and equipment.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple production demands and work effectively under pressure.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
Comfortable using computers and common production or reporting applications.
Preferred Attributes Welding inspection certification or related inspection experience.
Previous supervisory experience in a sheet metal, fabrication, or similar manufacturing environment.
Experience developing or improving welding procedures and processes.
Experience tracking production, quality, and safety performance.
Strong coaching and employee-development skills.
