Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Project Manager for our client, a well-established and respected real estate development and construction firm based in Kelowna, BC.
Our client has a long-standing presence in the Okanagan and delivers a diverse portfolio of projects across residential, mixed-use, hospitality, commercial, and industrial sectors. They are known for their commitment to construction excellence, long-term stability, and developing strong project teams.
This is a well-rounded Project Manager role suited for someone who enjoys being involved across all phases of construction. The successful candidate will manage projects from pre-construction through completion, overseeing cost, schedule, quality, and team coordination. The environment requires a self-starter who can manage priorities independently while maintaining strong communication with internal teams, consultants, subcontractors, and ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Define project scope, goals, schedules, and execution plans
Lead projects from planning through construction and close-out
Coordinate consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
Manage procurement, purchase orders, subcontracts, permits, and documentation
Track project budgets, schedules, and performance metrics
Conduct regular project reviews and reporting with senior leadership
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
Resolve issues related to subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel
Ensure projects meet safety, quality, and contractual requirements
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
Support and mentor project teams and site staff
Minimum 5+ years of experience in a Project Manager role
Experience across residential, mixed-use, hospitality, commercial, and/or industrial construction
Strong understanding of cost control, scheduling, and pre-construction processes
Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, C.E.T., GSC, or equivalent field experience
Proficiency with project management software, MS Project, MS Office, and financial tracking tools
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Accountable and self-motivated
Strong leadership and team-building skills
Positive, solutions-focused mindset
High emotional intelligence and professional judgment
