Position : Electrical Engineer Location : Vaughan Job Type : Permanent We are looking to hire an Electrical Engineer for a growing engineering-to-order client in the industrial equipment / machinery industry located in Vaughan. Responsibilities : - Control system design including generation of Bills of Material and electrical drawings - Program VFDs, PLCs and HMIs to meet the requirements of specific machine applications. (majority is Rockwell Logix, Factorytalk and Powerflex drives) Other manufacturers per customer requirements - Infrequent travel to customer sites for commissioning and field service (typically North America) - Provide technical support to customers for machine troubleshooting and repair - Provide technical support to company personnel and subcontracted service and test personnel when testing and commissioning machines - Support sales department by providing technical advice for customer specific requirements at the quotation stage - Prepare / troubleshoot virtual machines setup for vendor specific programming software for use by company's test and service personnel - Analyze data from test and commissioning reports to ensure machines are functioning per specification - Specify components on company equipment and ensure it complies with national and international electrical and safety standards - Generate test and quality control procedures for machines and control systems to ensure consistency in manufacturing processes - Generate procedures as required for electrical and software aspects of machine design and manufacturing - Provide training guidance for junior technical personnel - Negotiate with vendors for standardized component supply contracts - Carry out other assigned duties as necessary Education and Experience : - Graduate of Electrical Engineering program (C.E.T. or P.Eng.) - Ontario industrial electrician license preferred - Management experience desirable - At least 5 years of experience with industrial control system design, application and troubleshooting - Experience should include variable frequency drives, PLC's, HMI's and industrial ethernet networks, preferably from Siemens or Rockwell - Mechanical aptitude - Ability to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing to other employees and customers - Ability to do infrequent travel to client sites in North America To apply, please send your resume to Vanessa Tran at vanessa.tran@quantum.ca.
