AWC Water Solutions Ltd. specializes in providing integrated water, wastewater treatment plants and many other specialized industrial packaged solutions. We offer clients advanced in-house engineering & design with 3D modeling, piloting, fabrication and machining, in-house control panel shop, and a full range of field services, allowing us to provide turn‑key solutions.
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer in Training to support the design and fabrication teams and who also brings professionalism and dedication to the work we do and the communities we serve.
The successful candidate will demonstrate some experience in the selection and sizing of electrical equipment for water and wastewater treatment systems.
Responsibilities
- Using AutoCAD Electrical to develop design packages
- Perform analysis to support the sizing of electrical equipment to meet the Client specifications, codes, and standards
- Review engineering documents and verify compliance of selected electrical equipment to client specifications and industry standards and codes
- Work with the electrical and I&C (instrumentation and controls) design and fabrication teams to verify equipment selection and sizing provided by the application engineering group
- Review of Fabrication Drawings, Assembly Drawings, Bills of Materials, General Arrangement Drawings, Equipment Layout, and supports the development of change orders, etc.
- Assist project managers with client needs by taking part in client meetings or calls
- Evaluate and recommend cost‑effective design options without compromising quality and performance
- Collaborate with internal departments (fabrication, sales, etc.) and external stakeholders (vendors, owners, owners' engineers, etc.) to achieve desired project outcomes
- Stay updated with industry best practices and technologies through training and self‑improvement initiatives
- Help the continual improvement of AWC's Quality Management System's practices, procedures, templates, and checklists by participating in design reviews, feedback sessions, and process improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency
- Working towards P.Eng. registration in the province of BC or Alberta
