MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer to join our client, a 100% employee-owned consulting engineering firm based in Victoria dedicated to delivering innovative, community-focused water and wastewater solutions across Western Canada.
Your tasks will be to manage projects, provide hydraulic modelling and planning services, design water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure, and contribute to projects serving municipal and Indigenous communities. Responsibilities
- Act as Engineer of Record on water, wastewater, and stormwater projects (or support that role under supervision).
- Deliver hydraulic modelling and master planning projects with technical input and project coordination.
- Manage project components including scopes, schedules, budgets, and quality processes.
- Contribute to proposal writing and business development, particularly in First Nation infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, including client presentations.
- Prepare engineering designs, technical reports, and review deliverables for accuracy.
- Occasionally seal work products depending on designation and project requirements.
- Participate in internal knowledge sharing and external technical events.
Qualifications
- P.Eng. registration in BC (or eligibility within six months).
- 5–8 years of relevant municipal or Indigenous infrastructure experience.
- Exposure to hydraulic modelling, water/wastewater planning, or civil design.
- Ability to lead technical tasks and small project components independently.
- Experience in consulting environments and multidisciplinary project delivery.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site visits.
- Physical ability for field inspections in varied terrain and weather.
- Positive, collaborative, and detail-oriented mindset.
