We’re growing and looking for a detail-oriented HR & Payroll Coordinator to join our St. Catharines team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the HR & Payroll Coordinator makes sure our employees are paid accurately and on time, keeps our records organized and compliant, and is a friendly, trusted resource for staff with questions about pay, benefits, and HR.

Key Responsibilities

Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff, including overtime, commissions, and deductions
Maintain accurate employee records, including new hires, terminations, changes in status, and benefits enrollment
Ensure payroll compliance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act,2000 and federal payroll requirements, including CRA source deductions, remittances, and tax filings
Administer group benefits, RRSP contributions, and other employee programs
Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and HR policies
Support recruitment activities, including job postings, interview scheduling, and onboarding new hires
Maintain and update HR policies, the employee handbook, and personnel files
Track vacation, ESA leaves, and other time-off balances
Prepare payroll and HR reports for management and assist with year-end T4 processing
Assist with performance review coordination and employee relations matters

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
2+ years of payroll and/or HR administration experience; retail experience is an asset
Working knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000 and payroll legislation
Experience with payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, Ceridian, Payworks) and high proficiency in Excel
Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification, or working toward it, is an asset
Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
