Position Title: Auto Parts Store Shipper/Receiver

Location: St. Catharines, Ontario

Type of Employment: Full-time permanent

Number of Vacancies: 1

Compensation: $20.00 per hour plus comprehensive group benefits

Hours

  • 40 to 44 hours/week
  • Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday shifts (8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) may be required in the future

Position Summary

As a Shipper/Receiver, the individual will be required to check, pick, receive, ship, stock and organize automotive parts. They will safely deliver auto parts to customers and effectively dispatch delivery drivers, being mindful of customer requests. They will also help maintain the inventory and cleanliness of the store. They will be required to answer internal and external telephone calls and complete necessary paperwork in an accurate manner. Effective use of resources, such as the company database and parts catalogue, will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support all store warehouse duties (picking orders, receiving, inventory control, shipping, stocking, and organizing)
  • Efficiently and safely load auto parts onto delivery vehicles
  • Efficiently deliver parts, being mindful of customer requests
  • Coordinate the drivers for effective dispatching of vehicles
  • Help control inventory and ensure product availability
  • Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate manner
  • Collaborate with the main warehouse to resolve stock-related concerns
  • Maintain a clean and organized store by keeping racking, shelves, pallet area, workstations, and shared spaces neat (organize products, sweep, dust, sanitize, and mop)
  • When required, answer inbound calls and ensure all calls are answered in a professional manner
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned by the management team

Key Requirements

  • G Driver’s License and a clean 3-year abstract required
  • Shipping/Receiving experience is an asset
  • Familiarity and knowledge of the local area
  • Driver dispatching and coordination experience
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Basic math skills and ability to sort alphanumerically
  • Basic computer skills (e.g. ability to use Outlook, online database and web-based training)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to reliably work 40 to 44 hours per week
  • Ability to lift and move 10 lbs. (4.5 kg) to 50 lbs. (22.7 kg) safely and consistently
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, twist, lift and bend on a regular basis

Safety-Sensitive Position
