Unit Summary
Financial Services is responsible for Corporate Financial Reporting, Funded Revenue, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and annual budget process. The unit is responsible for the processing of patient and non-patient receivables along with ensuring flow-through of the detailed resulting transactions to the appropriate cost center/balance sheet accounts which in turn are used to make operational, financial and managerial decisions.
Position Summary
The Analyst will support direct management and Sr. Advisors as they support the organization to maintain effective
financial management, control and strategic planning. They will support by providing key inputs, compiling work, and
supporting financial analysis.
Role Accountabilities and Competencies Required:
Strategic Direction
• The Analyst provides key input and is involved in strategic initiatives. Initiatives include (but not limited to driving cost
savings, utilization/optimization etc.)
• The Analyst supports management/team members and provides key input into transformative change.
• The Analyst will have a basic understanding of the applicable external environment as it pertains to them and their
position (i.e. MOH, LHIN, lenders, MSSI)
• The Analyst supports management/team members and provides key input for business development/cases
Leadership
• The Analyst will be an operational contact
• The Analyst will be expected to work towards annual goals and objectives under the guidance of their leader
People
• The Analyst will be engaged in focused collaboration with individuals within VP Finance Portfolio
• The Analyst will be responsible for frequent communication to peers & direct management
• The Analyst will be responsible for providing recommendations & solutions to direct management with focused scope
impacts
• The Analyst will be responsible for leading local stakeholders through change (i.e. peers, team members, VP Finance
Portfolio
Business Skills
• The Analyst will be responsible for providing input into business processes (i.e. workflows, processes, control
frameworks, policies & procedures)
• The Analyst will have a basic understanding of the data structure as it applies to their area of expertise
• The Analyst will provide key input for ad hoc analysis and KPI management
• The Analyst will perform adhoc analysis and oversee management of KPIs (tracking and measuring)
Professional Skills
• The Analyst will be responsible for providing key insight/inputs, involved and utilizing information into policies, plans,
processes, control frameworks, operating activity etc. as it pertains to Operations Finance.
Schedule Work Hours
Monday – Friday, Days; with willingness to be flexible to suit organizational demands
Qualifications
The Analyst role requires the following:
1. Education – at least one of the following:
• Undergraduate degree
• OR the equivalent to the above (i.e. work experience)
2. Work Experience – 0-3 years of relevant experience
3. Specialized Skills – 0-3 years of experience in each of the following:
• Financial modeling
• Financial graphical and visualization
• Financial and Operating Systems
4. Soft Skill Experience – 0-3 years of experience in each of the following:
• Analytical and Problem Solving Skills
• Communication Skills – both formal (i.e. presentations, board reports, executive overviews/narratives) and informal
• Interpersonal Skills
• Collaboration/Team Work
• Informal leadership, coaching and leaderships
