Job description

Job Title: Customs Administrator Job Summary The Customs Administrator is responsible for providing administrative support to the Customs Department by ensuring accurate rating and compliance with the importation laws and following established processes with CBSA, Brokers, and Government departments to avoid interruption of the Linamar supply chain. Responsibility

  • Confirm customs documentation and paperwork is complete.
  • Communicate and escalate any process or compliance concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintain files and database records.
  • Review paperwork with Linamar Facilities and vendors and make corrections accordingly.
  • Monitor and track critical shipments, regardless of mode of transportation to prevent losses or penalties.
  • Work directly with and support clients, vendors and carriers for missing or incorrect documents.
  • Organize and publish Customs monthly newsletter.

Academic/Educational Requirements

  • Completion of Secondary School Diploma.
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) Designation considered an asset.

Required Skills/Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a customs role
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.
