Overview :

Pembina Pipeline Corporation is recruiting for a Senior Engineer, Integrity Management and Quality Management to join the team in either Calgary or Sherwood Park, AB offices.  This position reports to the Manager, Integrity & Risk Assurance in the Technical Services Unit (TSU), part of Pembina’s Corporate Services.

On behalf of Pembina’s Business Units, TSU manages a comprehensive integrity management program, which includes Facility Integrity, Pipeline Integrity, Geotechnical, Corrosion Control, Asset Management, Product Quality and Measurement, Geographical Information System, Integrity Project Execution, and Automation Services. TSU provides leading technical expertise that optimizes performance and minimizes operational and project risk.

This role will be responsible for providing engineering and quality management support to Pipeline Integrity maintenance activities.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to :

  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules”. To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com / safety;
  • Work with the Integrity Project Management and Execution teams to review and approve engineering designs for Pipeline Integrity maintenance projects;
  • Act as the Responsible Engineer for designs / drawings, and validate third party engineering contractor work;
  • Complete drawings and designs for pipeline maintenance projects where applicable;
  • Ensure that internal company Construction and Integrity Specifications are adhered to in the design phase;
  • Complete requests for information from third party contractors;
  • Review, provide subject matter expertise and act as the Responsible Member for Specification Deviations;
  • Review, update and create Pipeline Integrity Construction and Engineering Specifications and Standards as required;
  • Develop engineering decision records as required;
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required; and
  • Support and participate an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications :

  • Senior Engineer, Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Alberta and preferably other Canadian jurisdictions;
  • Registered and have acted as a Responsible Member in Alberta and other Canadian jurisdictions;
  • 15 + years of experience in the energy industry;
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian and US provincial / state and federal regulations related to pipeline design and integrity;
  • Experience working with and developing pipeline construction and engineering standards;
  • Self-motivated, independent, team player with a strong work ethic and initiative;
  • A dynamic and self-driven team player who can work independently, demonstrate initiative, and excel in a fast-paced environment;
  • Established proficiency in sparking and overseeing change, fostering innovation, resolving issues, strategizing effectively, and focusing on essential tasks;
  • Excellent communication capabilities with a proven track record in rallying stakeholders to attain goals, and in building and preserving relationships with external entities and internal business associates;
  • Proven aptitude to welcome and guide change, encourage innovation, creatively address problems, think strategically, and prioritize efficiently;
  • Remarkable communication talents with a demonstrated history of engaging stakeholders, achieving desired outcomes, and cultivating and sustaining relationships with third parties and internal business partners; and
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, drawing applications and GIS viewer.
  • The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Calgary or Sherwood Park, AB.

    The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
