Job Title: Forklift OperatorJob Description

This role focuses on safely operating forklifts and reach trucks to support shipping and receiving activities in a warehouse environment. You will handle inbound and outbound shipments, accurately pick and stage customer orders, and assist with inventory control while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workspace within a food manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Handle shipping and receiving by processing inbound and outbound shipments, verifying paperwork, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
• Operate forklifts and reach trucks safely to move, stack, and organize products and materials throughout the warehouse.
• Accurately pick, stage, and prepare customer orders according to work orders and shipping schedules.
• Support inventory control by assisting with regular cycle counts and organizing stock to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment by following housekeeping standards and adhering to safety procedures.
• Follow all warehouse procedures, including proper handling of products within a food manufacturing environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate daily tasks and resolve issues related to shipments and inventory.

Essential Skills

• Experience operating forklifts and reach trucks in a warehouse environment.
• At least 1 year of experience using a reach truck.
• At least 1 year of experience working in shipping and receiving.
• Ability to lift up to 22 lb.
• External reach truck license or certification.
• Order picking experience with attention to accuracy and detail.
• Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes and documentation requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a food manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with inventory control practices such as cycle counting and stock organization.
• Strong awareness of warehouse safety practices and safe equipment operation.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.

Work Environment

This position is based in a warehouse within a food manufacturing environment. The role follows a Monday–Friday schedule, from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. You will work around forklifts, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment, handling products and materials throughout the facility. The setting emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety and food-handling standards, with a focus on maintaining a safe and efficient workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mississauga, ON.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
