Job description
Adecco is currently hiring a Carpenter for a full-time opportunity based in Calgary, AB. This role is ideal for a skilled trades professional with strong hands-on experience in construction who takes pride in quality workmanship, safety, and supporting site operations.
The Carpenter will be responsible for a wide range of carpentry tasks, supporting both structural work and general site needs while contributing to overall project efficiency and quality.
  • Pay Rate: $36-$40/hour
  • Location: Calgary, AB
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Employment Type: Permanent | Full-time
Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of general carpentry tasks across active construction sites
  • Complete miscellaneous site work including deficiencies, backing, and cleanup
  • Install and maintain site hoarding, fencing, safety rails, and protective structures
  • Review blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine materials and work requirements
  • Assist with layout work including walls, embed plates, and quality control checks
  • Install components such as water stops, metal door frames, and base building hardware
  • Support mechanical and electrical teams with blockouts and preparation work
  • Assist with waterproofing prep and coordination with subcontractors
  • Maintain and install elevator hoarding, crane hoarding, and sidewalk protection systems
  • Ensure proper installation and maintenance of safety features across the site
  • Complete QA/QC checks and support overall site quality standards
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentices and labourers as needed
  • Follow verbal instructions and adapt to changing site priorities
Requirements
  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada
  • Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter Certification or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and general carpentry equipment
  • Solid understanding of construction drawings and site layouts
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety procedures
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work under time constraints and meet project deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • WHMIS certification
  • CSTS and Fall Protection certifications
  • Leadership in Safety Excellence or other safety-related training
  • Operator tickets considered an asset
  • Experience in high-rise or light commercial construction environments
Work Environment
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, including exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Travel to job sites may be required
  • Physically demanding role requiring lifting, movement, and active site work
