Are you an experienced Customer Service Representative or Inside Sales Representative with a background in wholesale distribution? We are seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative / Inside Sales Representative to join a dynamic order desk team in Coquitlam, British Columbia. Positioned within the sales & marketing category, this permanent role plays a pivotal part in delivering top-tier service to an established network of commercial clients, contractors, and suppliers across western Canada.

As an Inside Sales Representative and Customer Service Representative, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customer interactions. In this fast-paced wholesale environment, success relies on your mechanical aptitude and ability to build lasting professional relationships. If you thrive under pressure and enjoy solving client requests, this Customer Service Representative / Inside Sales Representative role in Coquitlam is a great opportunity to advance your career in sales & marketing.

Advantages
• Competitive compensation package with a base salary of $55,000 to $57,000 per year, based on experience.
• Permanent, full-time order desk position offering long-term employment stability in Coquitlam, BC.
• Supportive, collaborative team environment with an established industry leader in wholesale distribution.
• Opportunity to work with long-term, loyal account bases rather than cold calling.
• Ongoing career development and professional growth opportunities within sales & marketing.
• Comprehensive exposure to supply chain, order desk management, and industrial customer service.

Responsibilities
• Act as the main point of contact at the order desk for incoming customer inquiries via phone, email, and counter service.
• Process, enter, and verify customer purchase orders accurately into the computer system while noting specific delivery and material requirements.
• Read, analyze, and interpret customer requests, product schedules, and technical order specifications.
• Answer technical product questions and provide detailed information regarding product applications and mechanical inventory.
• Collaborate with internal sales and technical teams to prepare accurate, competitive quotes for commercial contractors and clients.
• Monitor and track scheduled order shipment dates, actively communicating with logistics teams to expedite deliveries as needed.
• Handle product returns, exchanges, and credit processing in accordance with corporate distribution guidelines.
• Liaise with internal departments, including inventory management, logistics, and outside sales, to maintain efficient order flow.
• Maintain organized customer interaction records and maintain strong long-term working relationships with key accounts.

Qualifications
Skills and Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working on an order desk within a wholesale distribution environment.
• Proven track record as a Customer Service Representative, Inside Sales Representative, or order desk clerk.
• Strong mechanical aptitude or experience working with industrial, building, or mechanical products, with the ability to quickly learn complex product lines and technical specifications.
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills to maintain trust with long-term wholesale clients.
• Proficiency with order entry software, computerized inventory systems, and standard office applications, ensuring high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills with a professional telephone and counter manner; additional language skills are an asset for national coordination.
• Excellent problem-solving, active listening, and critical thinking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven time management and multitasking skills to prioritize urgent client requests, order processing, and shipping deadlines.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and composed under pressure during peak business hours.
• High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary coursework in business, sales, or logistics is preferred.
