Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced
Construction Field Technician to support construction and commissioning activities for one of our major energy clients. This role serves as a key interface between the Construction Management Team, construction and commissioning contractors, and the Engineering Contractor.
You will support safe, compliant, and efficient project execution while ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and contractual requirements.
- Location: Remote Oil sands Site in Alberta
- Shift: 8 days on, 6 days off, 12hrs per day
- Job type: Temporary | Full-time
- Duration : 12-month contract
- Camp and Flights are provided from Calgary and Edmonton.

Responsibilities: - Actively support and adhere to client Safety Management System, including participation in safety initiatives
- Participate in field hazard assessments and risk assessments
- Support project execution planning activities, including design reviews, model reviews, and Construction Work Package (CWP) reviews as required
- Develop field requisitions in collaboration with Supply Chain Management, Construction Managers, and the Project Management Team
- Prepare technical bid evaluations and participate in contractor bid reviews
- Develop and maintain performance and quantity verification tools
- Verify contractor compliance with technical, engineering, and contractual performance requirements, including change management
- Support contractors and Engineering Contractors with material shortages, discrepancies, and related issues
- Review and recommend resolution for technical issues
- Review, process, and communicate:
- Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Technical clarifications
- client RFCs and FCNs
- Identify, assess, and communicate risk management considerations, including safety, quality, technical, cost, progress, schedule, and contractor performance risks
- Actively participate in toolbox talks, coordination meetings, safety meetings, and performance meetings
- Maintain ongoing communication with peers and key internal and external stakeholders, including Project Management Teams, Engineering, and Supply Chain Management
- Participate in contractor closeouts and contribute to lessons learned
Qualifications and Skills: - Minimum 5 years of construction experience on projects with annual budgets of $10MM+
- Working knowledge of construction execution and change management principles
- Experience within the mechanical services or construction industry
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Previous field experience considered an asset
- Must be able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
