As a Construction Administrator at Shane Homes, you are a highly organized and dependable professional who brings accuracy, strong follow-through, and a service-minded approach. You will help ensure essential construction documents, timelines, and information move smoothly between Estimating, field teams, trades, suppliers, customers, and external agencies.
We Would Love It If You Had These Too:
Previous administrative experience in residential homebuilding is required.
Practical knowledge of construction documentation and workflows, including permits, change orders, selections, warranty registrations, and job files.
Strong computer skills and confidence learning company software, vendor portals, document-management tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent organization, accuracy, and follow-through in a deadline-driven environment with competing priorities.
Professional written and verbal communication skills and a service-minded approach with field staff, trades, suppliers, customers, and agencies.
Sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to work independently while escalating risks and keeping stakeholders informed.
Here's What Your Day-To-Day Could Look Like:
Prepare work orders and construction packages for trades, suppliers, customers, Project Managers, and Area Managers, as applicable.
Apply for building permits and follow submissions through completion.
Process approved change orders and interior-selection packages accurately and on time.
Coordinate off-site supplier selections, required information, and timelines.
Support trades and suppliers with inquiries and vendor-portal questions.
Call for utility locates and complete applicable ATCO Gas and energy-service enrolment forms.
Process Real Property Reports, Alberta New Home Warranty applications, certificates of possession, engineering letters, and other construction correspondence.
Maintain complete customer and job files and support Estimators with administrative priorities.
Provide reception backup, maintain office-supply inventory, complete filing, and help keep shared office and kitchen areas professional and organized.
