Job Title: Cable Technician

Job Description

Join a leading design-build, end-to-end electrical contractor specializing in commercial and industrial projects across the BC Lower Mainland. As a Cable Technician, you will be responsible for installing various types of data cabling for voice, data, wifi, audio visual, and security systems in commercial buildings. This role involves physical tasks such as lifting reels and boxes of cable, climbing ladders, working on lifts, and navigating tight spaces. Work will take place in new construction sites, warehouses, and finished office buildings primarily throughout the Lower Mainland.

Responsibilities

• Set up ladders and prepare cables and materials for use.
• Install, pull, and test structured and network cabling.
• Terminate cable ends using various hand and power tools.
• Splice, repair, and replace existing cabling as needed.
• Document work completed according to job specifications.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 1 year experience as a cable technician.
• Experience with commercial and/or TI projects.
• Proficiency in handling Cat 5/6 cable and/or fiber optic.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in electrical, conduit, wiring, conduit bending, pulling wire, and bending conduit.
• Knowledge of fiber optic and security systems.
• Telecommunications expertise.

Work Environment

Join a growing team of currently 40 electricians, with plans to expand past 60. Work in a dynamic environment with a Monday to Friday shift, and occasional overtime depending on project deadlines. The company fosters a supportive atmosphere, encouraging collaboration and professional growth.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burnaby, BC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
