Senior Internal Communications Advisor to support our client, a leader in the oil and gas sector in Calgary, AB. This role provides
strategic communications leadership and advisory support to the Health & Safety (H&S) team. You will lead the development and execution of integrated communications strategies that reinforce safety as top value and support the safety of employees, contractors, communities, and the environment.
This role is responsible for translating complex technical, regulatory, and operational information into
clear, engaging, and impactful communications that align with our client's business priorities, corporate values, and brand standards. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior H&S leaders, the Senior Advisor plays a key role in shaping safety culture, behaviours, and awareness across the organization.

Responsibilities: - Develop and execute comprehensive Health & Safety communications strategies, plans, and campaigns
- Provide strategic communications counsel and coaching to Health & Safety leadership and subject matter experts
- Lead communications related to safety culture, behaviours, occupational safety, deployed safety, and process safety
- Support regulatory, compliance, and mandatory safety communications with clarity and accuracy
- Translate complex technical and regulatory content into accessible, consistent, and engaging messaging
- Partner with Internal, External, and Operations Communications teams to ensure alignment across audiences
- Support planning and execution of Health & Safety awareness events and initiatives
- Ensure all communications align with client business strategy, corporate values, brand, and governance standards
- Measure communications effectiveness and apply insights to improve outcomes
- Plan and support Health & Safety town halls, including content development, Q&A preparation, and event coordination
- Manage and update Health & Safety content across internal and external websites
- Maintain regular engagement with the VP, Health & Safety (Canada), providing project updates and strategic communications guidance
- Present communications updates at monthly Health & Safety Leadership meetings
- Prepare Health & Safety communications materials for the Safety Operations and Risk Subcommittee
- Support Health & Safety communications for external and annual publications (e.g., Corporate Social Responsibility Report)
Qualifications and Skills: - Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
- 8-10 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related role
- Previous experience within the oil & gas or energy sector strongly preferred
- Excellent written, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience developing strategic communications plans and advising senior leaders
- Strong understanding of the oil & gas industry, including regulatory, operational, and reputational considerations
- Familiarity with crisis and issues management communications
- Proficiency with digital communication tools and platforms
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, complex environment
- Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
