Our busy client is growing their team through business development and adding a Gas and Power Procurement Specialist. They are a Calgary-based natural gas power developer, seeking an experienced business development professional to secure fuel supply agreements, power purchase agreements, and behind-the-fence power acquisition opportunities for our growing portfolio of data center and industrial power projects across Alberta and Western Canada.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategy to secure long-term natural gas supply agreements with upstream producers and midstream operators in Alberta
Identify and negotiate behind-the-fence power purchase opportunities from existing generation facilities
Negotiate power purchase agreements with data center operators, HPC facilities, and industrial clients requiring reliable baseload power
Build and maintain relationships with gas producers, pipeline operators, power plant operators, and off-takers
Structure commercial terms for fuel supply, power procurement, and power sales that support our rapid 12-month deployment model
Coordinate with operations, legal, and finance teams on contract execution
Qualifications
5+ years in energy sector business development, power marketing, commodity trading, or commercial roles
Proven track record negotiating gas supply agreements, power purchase agreements, or power procurement contracts
Strong network within Alberta's upstream gas sector, power generation community, or power marketing
Understanding of gas markets, power pricing fundamentals, behind-the-fence power economics, and Alberta's regulatory environment
Excellent commercial negotiation and contract structuring skills
