AECOMBurnaby, British Columbia, CanadaAECOM is seeking a highly skilled Canada Mining Lead to join our leadership team. This is a fulltime role offering an exciting opportunity to support some of Canadas largest and most exciting mining reclamation projects across Northern Canada. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the positioning planning implementation and oversight of reclamation efforts for mining sites ensuring compliance with environmental standards and regulatory frameworks while fostering sustainable land restoration practices and working within local communities.
As a key leader within AECOMs Canada Region Environment team you will collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals manage client relationships and contribute to the growth and success of our mining reclamation practice.
Key Responsibilities :
- Senior leadership support to mining reclamation projects from initial assessment through to planning implementation and closure ensuring all work aligns with industry best practices and environmental regulations.
- Oversee and provide technical direction for environmental investigations site assessments and environmental compliance particularly in areas affected by mining activities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including environmental engineers water treatment engineers scientists and project managers to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Manage project budgets schedules and subcontractors ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Engage with regulators Indigenous communities and local stakeholders to ensure transparent and respectful communication throughout project lifecycles.
- Conduct field oversight ensuring safety compliance environmental protection and the execution of reclamation plans.
- Prepare and review technical reports proposals and regulatory submissions ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff fostering the development of AECOMs next generation of environmental leaders.
