Location: Edmonton, Canada (with travel across Western Canada)

Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000

Job Summary

The Project Manager (PM) supervises and administers the construction of assigned projects and is fully accountable for the contractual obligations, client assurances, and financial results of each project. The current focus is the ground-up construction of a large-format warehouse and retail facility valued at $30M+. The PM is responsible for all aspects of the project, including tendering and administering contracts, communicating with sub-trades and consultants, and working closely with the Superintendent and client on project details. This is a traveling role. The PM will be required to travel to projects on a rotation of 10 days on and 4 days off, with projects located throughout Western Canada.

To be successful in this role, the candidate should be a highly motivated leader who achieves a high level of productivity without the need for oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Holds overall responsibility for the successful execution of projects, in accordance with contract and quality requirements.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact between client, consultants, trades, and site superintendent to move the project from conception to completion.
  • Manages site work, keeping project scope on budget and on schedule.
  • Coordinates with all required internal and external project resources to develop execution planning deliverables, including construction supervision, technical staff, engineering, quality control, safety, performance, sub-contractors, and client stakeholders.
  • Ensures the project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications, and codes.
  • Provides technical guidance to Site Superintendents, General Foremen, and Project Coordinators.
  • Reviews and approves purchasing requisitions, subcontracts, and invoice payments.
  • Ensures compliance with all Occupational Health & Safety Acts applicable to the province in which the project is being executed.

    Skills & Qualifications

  • At least ten years of successful and progressively responsible construction experience.
  • Understanding of construction standards, methods, assemblies, plans, specifications, regulations, and codes.
  • Experience managing multiple projects.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clients, management, crew, and sub-trades.
  • Strong sense of construction timelines, order of scheduling, sub-trade management, and budgets.
  • Diligent and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to execute reliably in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

In addition to a competitive salary of $120,000 to $150,000, we offer comprehensive benefit coverage, RRSP matching, company events and socials, training and development opportunities, and more.
