Job description

On behalf of our client, an industry-leading and rapidly growing manufacturing organization based in Squamish, BC, we are seeking a designated CPA for an urgent temp-to-perm Financial Controller engagement through our agency. Beginning as a 3 to 6-month contract with a direct path to permanent employment, this role oversees plant accounting, full-cycle close, and junior staff mentorship. Ideally positioned for an on-site presence in Squamish, our client is open to a hybrid work arrangement for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for the manufacturing facility.

Prepare monthly financial statements, management reporting packages, and variance analysis.

Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and intercompany accounts.

Provide day-to-day supervision and mentorship to a junior accountant managing AP/AR and entry-level tasks.

Partner with plant operations and management to track operational KPIs and cost drivers.

Prepare external audit working papers and support statutory tax remittances.

Streamline accounting procedures and strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications
CPA or equivalent designation is required.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle close and financial reporting.

Hands-on accounting experience working within a manufacturing organization.

Proficiency with enterprise accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Proven capability to provide direct guidance, oversight, and mentorship to junior accounting staff.

Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities to explain variance trends to executive leadership.
