As a Senior Bridge Engineering Technologist, you will report to the Bridge Preservation Specialist and serve as a crucial technical resource for the GoA and Albertans. You will manage and coordinate specialized inspection programs, provide expertise in emergency situations, and support Alberta Transportation’s core mission of maintaining a safe and efficient transportation network.

Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to) :

• Conducting audits of regional bridge inspection consultants.
• Identifying audit sites and coordinating inspections with regional staff.
• Preparing comprehensive audit reports and compiling results.
• Managing and coordinating inspection programs for specialized steel structures.
• Reviewing consultant proposals and overseeing quality assurance audits.
• Providing advice on repair strategies for various bridge defects and damage.
• Responding to urgent safety issues and assessing damage.
• Collaborating with regional teams to implement immediate repairs.
• Offering recommendations on maintenance and repairs for provincial ferries.
• Evaluating and implementing new inspection technologies and techniques.
