Job description

Our client, is seeking a high-performing, leadership-driven Senior Project Manager to join their People and Culture (P&C) Planning & Portfolio Management group.

In this critical strategic role, you will lead cross-functional teams and drive the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of complex enablement and organizational transformation initiatives. Operating in a hybrid model with a strong foundation in Waterfall methodology, you will serve as the primary liaison bridging internal stakeholders, change leads, Business Analysts, VPs, and C-suite executives. You will establish robust PM governance, manage project structures, mitigate risks, and rebuild or optimize business processes to ensure high-visibility P&C initiatives are delivered successfully on time and within scope.

Duration: 6-Month Contract (with high potential for extension)

Advantages
High-Impact Organizational Scope: Lead a high-visibility transformation and process-optimization initiative within an enterprise People and Culture portfolio.

Executive Advisory Exposure: Serve as the primary project lead presenting progress, risk logs, and strategic updates directly to VPs and C-suite executives.

Strong PM Governance Leadership: Establish foundational PMI/Waterfall project structures, mentor project teams, and drive accountability across multiple workstreams.

6-Month Engagement Stability: Join a well-funded, highly collaborative enterprise team dedicated to organizational excellence and employee enablement.

Responsibilities
End-to-End Delivery & Execution: Lead the end-to-end planning, scoping, resourcing, budgeting, and delivery of complex, cross-functional organizational enablement projects.

Stakeholder Alignment & Executive Communication: Act as the central point of contact for project stakeholders and senior leadership; adjust communication style and tone to facilitate executive-level understanding and decision-making.

PM Governance & Documentation: Implement foundational PMI/Waterfall frameworks and maintain comprehensive project artifacts, including project charters, integrated schedules, RAID logs, and lessons-learned registers.

Risk Management & Blocker Removal: Proactively identify project dependencies and risks; escalate and mitigate issues rapidly to clear operational blockers for the delivery team.

Cross-Functional Team Enablement: Facilitate steering committee meetings, team standups, and status updates, enrolling and educating sponsors and team members on project delivery standards.

Vendor & Resource Oversight: Manage external vendors and third-party delivery partners where applicable, holding project teams accountable to agreed-upon metrics and timelines.

Qualifications
Professional PM Experience: 3 to 5+ years of dedicated project management experience leading large, complex, cross-functional projects.

PMI & Methodology Mastery: Formal Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent certifications, with deep practical experience applying Waterfall methodologies (and hybrid Agile practices).

Leadership & Executive Presence: Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and align stakeholders ranging from project team members and Business Analysts up to VP and C-suite executives.

Problem Solving & Facilitation: Proven facilitation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills; comfortable asking hard questions and navigating organizational ambiguity or legacy process remediation.

Communication & Personal Attributes: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; curious, resourceful, authentic, and collaborative style that fosters strong interpersonal relationships.

Preferred Assets & Nice-to-Haves
Experience leading large organizational transformation, process optimization, or shared services implementation projects.

Prior exposure to HR platforms and enterprise systems (e.g., Workday, ServiceNow, Avature).

Background supporting vertical retail, consumer goods, or global service industries.

Based in or around the Vancouver, BC area.

Summary
If you are a tech-savvy, highly leadership-oriented Senior Project Manager who pairs formal PMP/Waterfall governance expertise with strong executive communication, problem-solving curiosity, and a track record in organizational transformation, this 6-month contract opportunity is an ideal match. Bring your project structure precision, stakeholder leadership, and collaborative energy to our client's portfolio team today!
