Undergraduate Student Research Assistant, Philosophy
Primary Purpose: To assist in summer research on the project “Treatment Trust in Mental Health Care” while developing research skills in applied philosophy and the medical humanities. This position is supported by a DARE Undergrad Training and Mentorship Award.
Nature of Work: The research assistant (RA) will report directly to the Primary Investigator (PI) for the project. The meeting mode and frequency will be determined by the student and faculty member in tandem, but there is an expectation of 1 in-person meeting per week in the Philosophy Department to set priorities and ensure alignment of pace of work. Travel is not required.
Typical Duties or Accountabilities: The RA would serve as research assistant for the production of an applied philosophy article and as the lead inquirer on their own summer project, which could take the form either of developing a specified suite of research skills or constructing and completing a project (such as a presentation, paper, study, or other similar output). Which path (skill program or project) would depend on the student’s preferences and level of preparedness. The RA and PI would work together to identify areas for skill development, with emphasis on the interdisciplinary nature of applied philosophy and work in the medical humanities more generally.
Education: Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at University of Saskatchewan.

Experience: Past research experience is not a requirement, but applicants are encouraged to describe such experience in their application materials.
