Job description

Randstad is hiring for its fastest growing transportation client providing coast-to-coast coverage within Canada and between Canada and major US markets seeks an energetic self-starter for the position of Operations Coordinator / Supervisor in Edmonton. This role reports directly to the Terminal Manager and offers a temp-to-perm opportunity.

Position : Operations Coordinator

Shift : Afternoon, 11 : 00 AM to 7 : 30 PM or 12 : 00 PM to 8 : 30 PM

Salary : $55,000 to $60,000 annually

Location : Edmonton

Responsibilities

  • Administrative duties supporting efficient operations.
  • Maintaining company OH&S standards.
  • Collaborating with the operations team to meet targets and objectives.
  • Overseeing operations to ensure timely and accurate shipment processing.
  • Managing dock workers.
  • Managing yard usage, including ensuring proper and secure equipment parking.
  • Ensuring outbound freight is loaded into Linehaul and P&D units to meet service requirements.
  • Ensuring outbound freight is correctly routed.
  • Planning and coordinating Less Than Truckload (LTL) shipments.
  • Providing support in warehouse and logistics.
  • Handling customer escalation situations requiring increased attention.
  • Effectively communicating issues to management.

Qualifications

  • Previous transportation or operational experience.
  • Forklift knowledge (asset).
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • Comfortable with computer technology (email and online web tools).
  • TruckMate experience (asset).
  • Demonstrated customer relationship skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a high-transactional operations environment.
