Metal Shear Operator

We are seeking a motivated individual looking for work as a metal shear operator, for our client, a leader in fabrication and distribution of concrete reinforcing steel and related products.

This is the perfect position for someone looking for long-term employment with a company that values and invests in its employees.

SHIFT SCHEDULE : Day Shift, Monday to Friday, 5 : 00 am to 1 : 30 pm and Afternoon shift available with extra $2 an hour premium.

WAGE : starting at $24-27 / hr. Pay is based on experience with an opportunity to review following a successful 3 month probation.

JOB LOCATION : Rocky View County No.44, Alberta, must have your own transportation, as public transport is not available

Responsibilities

What will your daily responsibilities look like?

• moving steel bars (rebar) to the required work station
• using a metal shearing machine and table blender to form steel into the required size and shape
• ensuring that safe working protocols are followed for the benefit of the whole team
• high degree of safety awareness and commitment to safety

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess

• you need at least 1 years' experience as a shear operator
• you must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
• you have a willingness to quickly learn processes and how to operate new equipment
• manual dexterity is important
• strong communication skills + a collaborative mindset
• must have your own transportation, as public transport is not available
• must have legal authorization to work in Canada by way of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or valid Canadian work permit.
