Job Summary :
Reporting to the Director, Business Process Engineer, the Senior Analyst, Business Process is responsible for the design and support of business processes within the Securities and Treasury Operations team.
This role requires comprehensive knowledge of a broad range of investment products and strategies as well as capital market operations.
The individual in the position is expected to possess strong communication skills, creative out-of-the-box thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to meet tight deadlines.
What you will do :
Design trade processing workflows to accurately reflect new investment products and strategies on HOOPP's Investment Book of Record.
Once implemented, continue to monitor the transactions throughout the trade lifecycle and provide guidance / support if needed.
As the business evolves, perform periodic review and analysis of current processes within the Securities and Treasury Operations team to ensure that they continue to be efficient and effective.
Where appropriate, identify any risks or gaps within the processes and develop / recommend enhancements.
Act as a back-up to the Director in representing Securities and Treasury Operations in the Operational Readiness Committee meetings;
assess how new investment products or strategies will be operationalized.
- Participate in initiatives related to regulatory changes and / or process improvements. Provide business requirements and perform User Acceptance Testing.
- Work collaboratively with multiple teams and departments within HOOPP to ensure the economic details of the trades captured on investment book of record can fulfill the requirements for all upstream and downstream applications, processes, and reporting, such as Valuations, Accounting and Risk.
- Transfer knowledge to the Securities and Treasury Operations team on new investment products and strategies, obtain feedback on effectiveness and efficiency on new workflows and processes.
- Create and maintain new workflows and desktop procedures to support knowledge sharing and cross training opportunities within Securities and Treasury Operations.
Who you are :
- Strong knowledge pertaining to a broad range of investment products including equities, bonds, repos, loans, swaps, forwards, options, futures, and other types of complex derivative products
- Strong foundation in capital market operations and on processes within Investment Operations such as trade capture, settlements and confirmations
- Strong understanding of related processes such as valuations, accounting, risk, security lending and collateral management
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to facilitate interaction with other partners in Finance, Investment Management, Legal, IT, custodian, and external vendors.
- Strong business analysis, project management and time management skills
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and to manage conflicting priorities in a high performing culture
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and multitask
- High level of initiative, innovative and professionalism with enthusiasm and drive to succeed
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction or in a team setting
- Knowledge of investment systems and trading / confirmation platforms such as Simcorp Dimension, Omgeo CTM, Markitwire and DTCC.
Experience with Simcorp Dimension is an asset.
- Computer literacy such as MS Excel, Visio and SQL
- University degree in Business or related discipline
- Minimum 7 years' experience in a financial sector, preferably in capital markets
- Completion or enrolment in a professional designation program (i.e.CFA) is an asset.
