About this Opportunity

Join our dynamic Drilling & Completions team based in Calgary, Alberta, as a full-time Completions Engineer. Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Completions Engineering & Water Management, you will be responsible for the design, planning and execution of completion activities with a focus on safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

You will actively contribute to various departmental engineering projects and provide technical expertise on completion operations throughout assets in Western Canada.

Job functions will involve :

• Working with multi-disciplinary asset teams to support project development plans and provide input as a subject matter expert in Completions Engineering
• Developing detailed execution plans and completion programs which manage operational risk, are safe, cost effective and in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements
• Generating cost estimates at the required level of accuracy for AFE and budgeting purposes; tracking costs during operations, approving invoices and providing supplements as required
• Managing completion operations in a professional and efficient manner, ensuring complete adherence to safety, regulatory compliance and cost control
• Completing project reviews and end of well lookbacks to evaluate the effectiveness of completion operations in order to optimize current and future projects
• Staying current on new technologies and processes by taking part in industry forums, conferences, and technical seminars;

identifying opportunities to develop optimized completions techniques and frac designs

• Periodic onsite field support will be a part of the position
• Assisting in evaluating casing designs to ensure wellbore integrity during completion activities
• Providing technical input to procurement initiatives, including scope of work, technical requirements, technical evaluation and support commercial evaluation as applicable

Required Skills & Qualifications :

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering
• 5+ years of completions experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably related to multi-stage fracturing, coil tubing, production testing and well servicing operations
• Professional Engineer designation with APEGA
• A team player who is highly technical, results-orientated and has excellent problem solving skills
• Safety leader with a proven understanding and respect for safe workplaces
• Expert knowledge of AER regulations and industry practices pertaining to completions operations
• Enthusiastic individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with both field and office staff
• Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
• Knowledge of BCER regulations is considered an asset
• Field work experience is considered an asset
