partner staffing on behalf of our Client is looking for a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer. You will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of mechanical systems for commercial and mixed-use projects.
You will work closely with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that our projects meet the highest standards of efficiency, sustainability, and functionality.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities :
Lead the design of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, for commercial and mixed-use buildings.
Ensure designs meet client specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, managing all phases from concept design through construction and commissioning.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers. Review and approve design drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, electrical engineers, and contractors, to integrate mechanical systems into overall project designs.
Participate in coordination meetings and contribute to integrated design processes.
- Incorporate sustainable design principles into mechanical system designs. Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and environmentally responsible solutions.
- Serve as the primary mechanical engineering point of contact for clients. Present design concepts, provide technical advice, and address client concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. A Master’s degree or specialized training in building systems engineering is an asset.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on commercial and mixed-use projects.
- Proficient in mechanical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design tools)
- Strong understanding of mechanical system design, energy modeling, and sustainability principles.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in British Columbia is required.
