The Role

We are looking for an Account Director to join our team here in Toronto. You are someone who is ready for a challenge, who is intrigued and excited by an opportunity to work on a large well-known automotive brand.

We are in need of someone with a thorough understanding of website operations who can be a true partner to our client and cross-functional agency team, and to support the Account Supervisor and Account Executives on the web business as well as the larger team to help drive the work forward.

What you will do

  • Take a leading role in building the clients’ business, providing them with innovative short and long term strategic marketing guidance while cultivating a positive and partnering relationship
  • Develop strong relationships with internal and external agency partners across various disciplines, leveraging a variety of expertise in support of the client
  • Be able to ramp up quickly to a solid understanding of the clients’ product portfolio and their competitive landscape
  • Identify and proactively lead new business opportunities for the client that can help drive their brand forward
  • Assist in building and championing integration of the business by leading and facilitating cross-divisional discussion and planning
  • Seek out operational and process efficiencies across the business
  • Serve as an advocate and coach to the account team to help the day-to-day business run smoothly
  • Ensure that agency team produces all client work with highest level of quality, on time and on budget
  • Ensure the team is set up for success to effectively manage multiple on-going campaigns
  • Take an active role in developing all direct reports, providing mentorship and conducting on-going performance evaluations
  • Responsible for taking the lead role for new hires into the group, building and shaping an effective team
  • Provide input into staffing plans, budgets and promotions
  • Take an active role in building a positive agency culture
  • Ensure that client estimates are properly signed off prior to work starting
  • Overall fiscal responsibility for budgets and billings
  • Take lead role on special projects

Who you will be

  • A demonstrated agile, strategic thinker with ability to lead a business
  • 5+ years experience in advertising / marketing disciplines, with a proven experience in managing complex website platforms and driving process innovation
  • A proven track record of building strong long-term client relationships with a number of high-touch clients
  • Highly-developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working in an extremely fast-paced business in a highly competitive and evolving industry
  • Experience working cross-divisionally, including with external agency partners
  • Experienced people manager, demonstrating strong mentoring abilities
  • Ability to keep composure and lead effectively in high-stress situations
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Post-secondary specialization in advertising, marketing or project management preferred
  • Automotive experience preferred
  • Demonstrated fiscal management skills
  • Strong working understanding of Jira, Smartsheet, Sharepoint and Microsoft Teams
