Your Opportunity :
Reporting to the Care Manager of Recovery Supports and Day Program, the Recovery Supports Worker is an integrated member of an interdisciplinary team that facilitates the recovery process for individuals with addiction and / or mental health concerns within a group-based and individual platform.
The Recovery Support Worker is responsible for assisting in planning, implementing and modifying a wide variety of program options and opportunities that promote well-being for individuals and groups.
Programming is designed to promote hope, provide supported opportunities to develop self-identity, facilitate the discovery of personal meaning in life, and promote personal responsibility.
The Recovery Support Worker is a member of an integrated treatment team providing emotional and functional skill building opportunities.
Knowledge of existing community resources is an asset. The successful candidate will be comfortable providing group-based care, display excellent engagement, communication skills and be collaborative.
The candidate will be required to have a high comfort level with client intervention and mediation. The successful candidate will be a highly organized, self-motivated professional, with a friendly and open demeanor.
This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. By applying on this posting, if you are the successful candidate, you will transition to Recovery Alberta.

Description :
As an Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will contribute to the delivery of community based services to persons with a chronic addiction and / or severe and persistent mental illness using psychosocial rehabilitation principles, promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life.
Your duties will include carrying out assigned tasks in a client focused recovery plan which includes support to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities.
You will work collaboratively with other health and service providers. In this position, you will work under the direction of a regulated health provider.
Required Qualifications :
Completion of diploma from a post-secondary program in a related field or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications :
Current Basic Life Support. Current Non-violent Crisis Intervention training. Possession of, or willing to obtain class IV driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience of working in community mental health. Familiarity with Connect Care.
