Alberta Infrastructure is responsible for leading the development of the provincial Capital Plan, which addresses the provincial infrastructure needs of Alberta’s population that support key social programs and services and economic development. The Ministry designs, builds, manages, and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that school and hospital infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population. Infrastructure also provides accommodation services and manages a large portfolio of owned and leased facilities while maintaining fiscal accountability and optimizing value for Albertans.
Role Responsibilities
- Preparing, forecasting, monitoring, consolidating and reporting summaries for all aspects of the branch budget ($200 million), and providing timely forecast information to the Executive Director and Finance.
- Monitoring, retrieving and manipulating data from various systems (e.g., FBIS) to determine accuracy of expenditure coding, correcting via clearing suspense items, transferring expenditure historical records and project year‑end accruals.
- Receiving ministerial action requests and determining appropriate action, compiling related historical information, reports, statistics and financial documentation, and composing responses for general / statistical / financial requests.
- Coordinating, overseeing and managing various branch projects, including compiling resources, developing action plans, establishing goals, completing progress reviews and initiating follow‑up.
- Attending management meetings, preparing minutes and following up on action items.
- Liaising with branch areas regarding the interpretation of Master and Subsidiary Agreements.
- Preparing ad‑hoc reports and maintaining the Branch organizational charts, and providing updates to the Deputy Minister’s office as required.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
