Job Details

Salary range : $82,000 - $124,000

Shift structure : Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day

Primary location : CASA House

Union : Exempt

FTE : 1.0

About the Role

CASA House is a live-in program for teens who need support with significant mental health and / or addictions challenges.

Teens stay at CASA House for an average of four months. The program involves parents and caregivers as active participants in treatment.

Treatment includes individual, group and family therapy, social and life skills training, and on-site schooling in small classroom settings.

The Program Manager, CASA House will :

  • Provide day-to-day leadership to a multidisciplinary team, including : clinical and service delivery leadership;human resource management including performance management;
  • coaching and mentoring;budget management including development;variance analysis;expense approvals and reporting;ensuring staff education and training;

andprogram development, evaluation and quality improvement.

  • Work with the Senior Manager, Clinical Operations and the Medical Lead(s) to facilitate the development of a high functioning clinical teams.
  • Oversee and ensure direct reports utilize a holistic and high-quality model of assessment and treatment planning that is family-centered, trauma-informed and inclusive of biological, psychological, social and cultural factors for patients and their families.
  • Ensure the provision of evidence-informed practice in the assigned program.
  • Ensure high-quality record management through the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure workload distribution in the context of program needs and staff skill set.
  • In partnership with the Clinical Practice Lead, assess and monitor standards of care and the adherence to CASA clinical policies and procedures, and relevant legislation and Acts.
  • Ensure staff are trained and adhere to CASA policy and practice regarding admission, discharge data collection and clinical documentation.
  • Act as the first point of contact in the complaint resolution process for patients and families.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of training opportunities at the program level and collaborate with the Clinical Education department for initiatives that may extend to the whole organization.
  • Ensure appropriate skill-building for program staff during orientation.
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of a competency framework for program area.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Clinical Operations to identify service delivery improvements and suggest enhancements with the lens of evidence-informed practice and CASA strategic and operational plans.
  • Ensure patient safety event reporting and immediate risk mitigation.
  • Lead safety event analysis and solution generation.
  • Review quarterly patient safety reports for program-specific trends.
  • Monitor for documentation and privacy policy adherence.
  • Collaborate with Senior Manager, Clinical Operations and Medical Lead to routinely review and plan improvement to enhance program quality.
  • Ensure the collection of evaluation and quality data.
  • Incorporate evidence-informed, best practice models into clinical programming and practice, and ensure clinical care remains consistent with CASA policies, procedures, and strategic and operational plans.
  • Practice according to the code of ethics and practice standards of their specific discipline and support scopes of practice and codes of ethics of other disciplines represented on their team.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in clinical psychology, social work (with psycho-social intervention designation), occupational therapy or nursing or abachelor’s degree in nursing with five years of experience in child and family mental health and two years of leadership experience would be considered.
  • Current registration in good standing with a professional college identified under the Health Professions Act.
  • A minimum of five years of clinical practice in child and family mental health and / or youth addictions.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical leadership in a mental health setting.

Conditions of Employment

  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground.
  • Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
