Job Summary
The position will assist Dr. Trott, Assistant Professor, Department of Kinesiology, with research studies and day-to-day laboratory tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with all aspects of laboratory duties including, but not limited to :
- General inventory of supplies.
- Mouse husbandry and colony maintenance
- Design and conduct of quantitative PCR assays.
- Data collection and analysis.
- Maintenance of research records.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Kinesiology, Bioengineering or a related science field or the equivalent experience.
- Research experience in a wet lab environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Research experience in Kinesiology
- Experience in quantitative PCR assays.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
General knowledge and experience with cardiovascular and metabolism research.
Other Requirements
- UTA blood borne pathogen and biosafety level II training and certification.
- All relevant AALAC and UTA IACUC trainings.
