Job description

Job Summary

The position will assist Dr. Trott, Assistant Professor, Department of Kinesiology, with research studies and day-to-day laboratory tasks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with all aspects of laboratory duties including, but not limited to :

  • General inventory of supplies.
  • Mouse husbandry and colony maintenance
  • Design and conduct of quantitative PCR assays.
  • Data collection and analysis.
  • Maintenance of research records.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Kinesiology, Bioengineering or a related science field or the equivalent experience.
  • Research experience in a wet lab environment.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Research experience in Kinesiology
  • Experience in quantitative PCR assays.

    • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • General knowledge and experience with cardiovascular and metabolism research.

    • Other Requirements

  • UTA blood borne pathogen and biosafety level II training and certification.
  • All relevant AALAC and UTA IACUC trainings.
