Staff Engineer, Development
What you’ll do
Our Lead Developer will join the POS & mobile team and be a key member in contributing evolve our suite of apps by adopting the latest technologies and capabilities.
This individual has both a solid understanding of mobile technologies and develop backend services and APIs to support them.
This individual is expected to :
Write code using best practices that aligns with the overall architecture, is reusable and responsive in order to produce high quality applications
Work closely and collaborate effectively with other developers, product owners and designers
Mentor and lead fellow developers
Lead technology change within Canadian Tire
Participate in Agile ceremonies, openly communicate using various tools and leverage delivery tools to share updates and documentation (Jira, Confluence etc.)
Has the ability to work in a fast paced, growing and dynamic environment
What you bring
Minimum 10 years of experience as a developer
Proven track record of mentoring and leading fellow developers
5+ years working experience designing and building mobile and web applications
Fundamental understanding of Java design concepts and design patterns
Strong understanding of development using the Spring Framework
Strong understanding of design and development in UI technologies ex.
Angular
Flutter
React
Native Android
Strong understanding of Git
Solid knowledge of at least one SQL programming environment ex.
SQL Server
Oracle
MariaDB or MySQL 10
Proficient understanding of Linux operating systems and development environments
Strong understanding of security, encryption, and compression best practices
Experience developing and deploying to at least one cloud platform
Azure
Google Cloud
Kubernetes / Docker
Experience with DevOps environments and tools ex.
Bamboo, Jenkins, Ansible
