Key Responsibilities :
We are looking for a manager-level contractor resource to temporarily join our Technology Procurement team, with the potential for temp to perm hiring.
The role will lead Strategic Sourcing and contracting activities :
- Focuses on the Market Data / Data & Content subcategories
- Drives procurement actions to deliver against Master Category Strategies
- Leads category
- specific RFx to enable global / regional / local efficiency
- Drives business and legal contract negotiations, along with Office of General Counsel, achieving terms and conditions that are favorable
- Drives commercial negotiations, achieving cost savings and other value
- Understands how to navigate across different SMEs and teams to gain cross-functional input and facilitate decisions
- Balances workloads and engages appropriate resources, based on needs and timelines Responsibilities include :
- Master Category Strategy inputs, internal and external analysis 20% of time o Researches and reviews internal and external information relevant to sourcing and contracting activities to ensure proper competitive context is applied to achieve effective negotiation results.
- End-to-end execution of sourcing and contracting work (75% of time) o Creates sourcing / contracting project charters and an action plan for executing o Leads RFxactivities in conjunction with Sourcing Center of Excellence team o sLeads meetings with business teams and suppliers to keep project moving and to facilitate decision-making o Applies category and procurement expertise to lead effective supplier negotiations and achieve strong commercial outcomes Seeks to understand and follow the firms’ procurement protocols, including all documentation and information capture in the relevant Procurement systems.
- Other Responsibilities (5% of time) o Contributes to department meetings to share relevant information and assist in category management / strategy development activities.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s Degree required; Procurement certification preferred Years of Experience : 8-10 years of experience
Skills :
- Extensive strategic sourcing execution experience
- Five+ years expertise in Market Data / Data&Content categories
- Strong negotiation and negotiation strategy development skills
- Persuasive and convincing communication and presentation skills
- Project management experience
- Virtual team management experience
- Ability to engage senior executives to influence decisions
- Analytical interpretation and design skills
- Strong data and analytics execution skills (e.g., complex TCO modeling)
- Comprehensive understanding of Master Category Strategy elements and development process
- Strong interpersonal skills to drive coordination between legal and business stakeholders for contract completion
- Ability to interpret member firm needs and commercial strategies as input into the category strategy
- Strong knowledge of agreement and contract templates
