POSITION SUMMARY
Specializing in application systems and software, the Senior Application Program Manager will manage complex projects related to IT applications and systems including ERP.
Leveraging their extensive experience and expertise, he / she will lead all aspects of the project scope, budget, and schedule.
This role requires a deep understanding of IT technologies, program management methodologies, and exceptional communication skills and strategic thinking to drive innovation and achieve strategic objectives through application initiatives.
REPORTING
The Senior Application Program Manager reports directly to the Senior Director, IT Governance and Planning, and will be assigned to different IT projects.
ResponsIbilities
- Collaborate with leadership team and key stakeholders to define strategic objectives and priorities for IT application projects, in alignment with organizational initiatives and goals.
- Develop comprehensive right to left project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, resource allocation, and budget estimates, to support project execution.
- Lead project teams, providing guidance, support, and oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive program execution efforts, ensuring adherence to project plans, timelines, and quality standards, while mitigating risks and addressing issues proactively.
- Foster collaboration and communication among cross-functional teams, including architects, developers, and operations team to achieve project objectives.
- Facilitate alignment between different project team members and other departments to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work with IT managers to allocate resources effectively to support the project activities, including internal resources, and third-party services.
- Identify and assess risks associated with IT application projects and develop and implement mitigation plans to ensure project success.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, maintaining regular communication and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide timely and transparent updates on project status, risks, and issues to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CPA, ITIL Expert, CISSP) preferred.
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in program management, with a focus on application projects and integration to existing systems.
- Exceptional problem solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving innovation and continuous improvement in application delivery processes.
- Strong knowledge in project management tools and processes.
- Good ability to document and communicate in English and French.
